How many languages do you speak? Hmmm.. None actually..

Image
Good morning! Dobro jutro! Kalimera! :) Few weeks ago I was reading some Serbian blogs, and it got me thinking how well actually I know Serbian language. Then I stopped thinking about it, until I read this cross-cultural life post from  The Random Writings Of Rachel . She speaks Chinese, her husband Spanish, and she wondered what language they should speak at home to their kid. I said the baby could easily speak three languages. EASILY? There is no way one could speak easily more than one language. Unless, that person has an iq of 150+. Than that's ok. So, I started thinking again about the languages. I speak two languages fluently . I think I speak two languages  fluently. Serbian and English. I grew up in Serbia, graduated from American University, and now I am all over the world. Every time I would go back home during summer break at college, I would need some time to adjust. When I would speak, some words would come out in English. After a while of not using some word

Trip to Africa (Tunisia)

Image
It is Friday already ? Time does fly. It is time for another Flashback Friday hosted by  Fran ,  Poekitten ,  Moira  and  Jane . Link up everybody.. :)   Every now and then I am thinking about my vacation to Tunisia this past summer.  During spring and part of the summer of 2013 I was doing internship with one bank in Macedonia. It was pretty stressful, so after I finished it I really needed a break. Darko played at New Zealand at that time. He was coming home a month after I finished my internship. I tried to plan our vacation, but it didn't work out. He wanted to go to Greece, and I wanted to go somewhere else (we have already been in Greece). He wanted to practice during vacation, and all I needed was rest. Soo.. We decided I would go with one of my girlfriends on vacation before he comes back, and then we will go somewhere together. If you ask me, it was a perfect plan. :)  My friend and I wanted to go somewhere nice, without crazy parties, with the hotel close to

Yesterday's walk turned into magnificent experience

Image
Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan I am still impressed how beautiful nature is. And, I only saw a sample of it. We had a day off yesterday, so we decided to do some exploring. We sat on the train and went few stops away. We did some walking by the ocean (it was very windy and cold), so we were thinking where should we go. We were looking on our map... And... We saw a little fish (a sign for Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan). It was close enough so we thought why not. I already did some research on this place, so I new it's one of the biggest aquariums in the world. But, I wasn't sure what to expect. I have never been to any place like this before. It's amazing what humans can do! They made this huge aquarium (which holds 11 000 tons of water), just for people to see and feel what is life like deep down in Pacific Ocean. There are some weird, cute, pretty and less pretty animals. Most of them I have never seen in my life. I am still learning how to use my camera, so the photos are not

The Weekend Recap

Image
Hey there! If you read my past posts, you probably know how excited I was for Darko's home games these past weekend.. The games were on Saturday and Sunday. I literally woke up around 9 am (and I don't wake up before 11 or 12) on Saturday to start getting ready. Games were really fun and stressful. The first game on Saturday, Osaka  (Darko's team) were up the entire game. At one point they were up by 20 points, so I thought "Oh, this is going to be an easy win". I guess I was wrong. They went in over time and lost by few points. It was unbelievable. They really deserved to get that win. Well, on Sunday they came back and won. It was really a good game. The gym was almost full, and the fans really enjoyed the game. This is the team mascot and the team banner  During the time out  After the game Darko's signing autographs I get so stressed during the game, I can't take pictures. :) After the Sunday game we went with Darko's team

Flashback Friday Link Up

Every once in a while I would go through my old photos and remember all the memories. You cannot go back in time, but you can always go back to your albums. We all had some great times at the past! We even have a great time right now, but we don't realize it. We will probably see it in the future. You never know what you have until it is gone. :) Darko and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, or any other "important" day (like monthiversary and anniversary even). We try to enjoy each other and be happy every day. Celebrating dates is like surviving to me. Like, I have survived the past year, so I am going to celebrate it. Why not celebrate every single day instead of celebrating once a year? We do acknowledge these "important" dates, but we don't do anything special on these days. I know most of you wouldn't agree with me, but this is just my opinion. :) Since it's Valentine's day and this is my first link up, I think I should d

Working out starts tomorrow.. Well, maybe on Monday.

Hi there! I hope all of you have a good week so far.  I don't know about you, but I have been trying to motivate myself to work out for the past six months. It didn't work out.. So this time I really want to make myself get up and exercise. Summer is coming soon, and I really need to get back in shape.   I am an ex athlete. I was playing volleyball for 14 years. I played at college and a little bit of professional. And, I understand how I got tired of sports. After four surgeries, who wouldn't? But what I don't understand how I got lazy and lack of motivation to do any exercise. I do walk every day for at least an hour, but I need to get active.  I was looking through different websites for monthly plan of house workouts. I found this one  30 days of change , and it's pretty good. You don't need any equipment for work outs, and all exercises are super short. So it's a good start for me. Now, all I need is to make myself work out every day. :) For the

New apartment and another weekend of away games

Image
We moved to our new apartment on Wednesday, and got our stuff (from our old  apt) on Thursday.  We still didn't get our internet in here, so I'm writing from my phone. And, I don't like it. I like the feeling when you press the buttons on your computer and see the words on your screen. It gives me inspiration to keep writing. Hopefully we will get the internet soon. The new apartment is pretty nice. It's bigger than our old one, and has the most beautiful view. Having my morning coffee on our balcony while watching ships coming in and leaving the port, is the best part of my day.  I love waking up to this view!   I did some cleaning and decorating, but I still have some more to do. My favorite part of the apt is our little dininig area.  With this view, every meal will taste a little bit better. :) I can't wait for Darko to be back from the games so we can have our first official meal here.  Speaking of devil, it has been a month of away ga

The Cool Virus

Image
Last night before I went to bed, I got on fb to check what's happening in the world of my friends. And, my entire home page was full of these new fb videos. I think it's called fb movie or something. You know what I am talking about. It amazed me how most of my friends from all around the world liked the same thing, and wanted to be part of it.  I couldn't go to sleep because my brain was working like crazy. And everything I was thinking about was how  similar actually we all are.. When something is in, cool, trendy everyone wants to have it. But why? Who makes those trends? Who says that is cool and we should have it? Why everyone wants to be the same? How come we all like the same things, but we are raised differently? We are from different countries, different cultures, having different beliefs, speaking different languages... But, we all try to look like somebody we are not.  We all buy stuff because somebody else has it. Not because we need it.  Let's us
