Life On The Road

Who is the bad guy in your household? Who is the one saying NO to kids all the time? You can guess which one am I. :) The bad one of course.  Considering research, 60-70% of mothers feel they are this kind of parent. I am glad I am not the only one. Are you in this group as well? I like to plan everything for Nina. For example, when she eats, when she goes to bad at night, when she baths, for how long she can watch cartoons, etc. Darko is not like that. He is less strict with her. He is the funny one. The cool dad. He lets her do things her way. She likes him more because of this. I am so tired of being the bad guy. I feel like the only word that comes out of my mouth is NO. I don't know if I ever say YES. :) I feel like Darko is too laid back, and allows her to do (almost) anything, so I need to jump in and break the party. I am really glad February came to an end. We have been sick for two weeks (half of the month). First, I got flu and I was in bed for a week, and then Nina got it from me and she was in bed for another week. I haven't been this sick in a long time. Usually, I would get cold and be in bed for a day or two, and then I would be good to go. But this time it was different. I didn't write any post this past month because of that. What happened this month? Darko and his team made it to the top six of the league, which is a big success for them. I read my book for the month (Alfred Adler-The Education of Children), and I was not too impressed by it. It is a decent book, but it is for someone who is studying psychology rather than someone who reads casually. My book choice for the month of March is Don't Sweat The Small Stuff by Richard Carlson.   I can't believe January is already over. We didn't do much this month. Nina and I went to Serbia for Serbian (Orthodox) Christmas, and spent seven days with my younger sister. It was really a nice week. We celebrated Christmas at my dad's house, and both of my sisters were there and the kids. Even though Nina doesn't see her cousins that often, they always have a great time when they are together. Nina and Petra Nina, Petra and Tara   We also marked six months period since our mom passed away. It went  by so fast, but I feel like it happened yesterday. It is amazing how time is relentless. Whatever we do, and wherever we are, the time will always take its toll on us. We are always trying to catch up with it, but none of us is able to do so.   Nina finally adapted to preschool. Last Thursday (if I remember correctly) was her first day without crying. She is doing very well these days. She eats her lunch over there, and even remembers few name...

    This post is a little bit different than the others, but I felt the need to write it. I would love to hear thoughts, experiences and opinions on this topic. Nina started preschool about a month and half ago, but she only went for three full weeks. There were Christmas holidays, then Serbian Christmas, so she missed few weeks.    Adaptation is not going so well. And, we are on the edge of quiting. She cries every single morning when she wakes up. Last couple of days she cried the entire time she was in the preschool. The big difficulty is that she is going to Czech preschool, and she is not speaking Czech language. She doesn't understand teachers or kids.    She is really young, so she will learn  the language  fast. And, Czech has some similarity to Serbian language. Prostejov has been good to us so far. We moved here about two months ago. Before we moved here, we were in Skopje, Macedonia. I was fighting myself to write post about Skopje, but I couldn't do it. Our time in Skopje was awful. Whenever I think about it, I have this ugly anxious feeling. If I could choose one country to never visit (again), easily that would be Macedonia. So I decided not to write a post about it. It doesn't deserve to be here, and remind me of bad things. I do have  Skopje through my phone  post, if you want to check it out. Well... It is 20 minutes away from Olomouc, and 45 minutes away from Brno. The city got its name from the Lord Prostêj, and the first time the city appeared in historical records was in 1141. Happy New Year everyone! I hope your break was good, and you are ready for fresh start. 2017 was one of the toughest years in my life, and I am glad it is over. This is the first year that I really want to change some things in my life. It could be because of my years. I am turning 30 this summer, and I want to do something good with my life. I love being  mom and wife, but I feel like I can do more.  I was thinking what I would like to do (or not to) in new year, and   here is my list: -to find a job that I love -to work out more -to blog continuously -to travel (at least) to one country I haven't been before -to stop baiting my nails -to smile often -to read one book each month -to let the past go -to be present in the moment, and not to live in past or future Do you have any new year's resolution?
