Life On The Road

One of my 2018 (and every year) resoultions was to visit one country I’ve never been to before. I thought we should go to some country next to Serbia that we didn’t visit already . But, in April of 2018 Darko got an offer from one team in Russia. I wanted to visit Russia at some point, but it wasn’t on my “most wanted countries to visit” list. Actually, I didn’t have any special opinion about that country. What I know about Russian people is only what I saw (experienced) in airports and hotels. I don’t want to generalize, but my impressions were (and didn’t change much after our time in Russia) that Russian people are rude, unpolite, and too proud. There is nothing wrong with being proud, as long as you respect other people. But, if you think that you are worth more just because you were born in a certain country, there is something wrong with you.   I can't believe January is already over. We didn't do much this month. Nina and I went to Serbia for Serbian (Orthodox) Christmas, and spent seven days with my younger sister. It was really a nice week. We celebrated Christmas at my dad's house, and both of my sisters were there and the kids. Even though Nina doesn't see her cousins that often, they always have a great time when they are together. Whatever we do, and wherever we are, the time will always take its toll on us. We are always trying to catch up with it, but none of us is able to do so.   Nina finally adapted to preschool. Last Thursday (if I remember correctly) was her first day without crying. She is doing very well these days. She eats her lunch over there, and even remembers few name...

Prostejov has been good to us so far. We moved here about two months ago. Before we moved here, we were in Skopje, Macedonia. I was fighting myself to write post about Skopje, but I couldn't do it. Our time in Skopje was awful. Whenever I think about it, I have this ugly anxious feeling. If I could choose one country to never visit (again), easily that would be Macedonia. So I decided not to write a post about it. It doesn't deserve to be here, and remind me of bad things. I do have  Skopje through my phone  post, if you want to check it out. Well... Enough about negative feelings. Let's talk about Prostejov. Prostejov is a small city in Czech Republic, located on the eastern side of the country. It is 20 minutes away from Olomouc, and 45 minutes away from Brno. The city got its name from the Lord Prostêj, and the first time the city appeared in historical records was in 1141.  After our time in France, in January we moved to Cyprus. I don't know if you knew, but Cyprus is split in two parts. South part is inhabited mostly by greek Cypriots. This part is a member of European Union, and is more developed comparing to the north part. North part is inhabited mostly by turkish Cypriots , and its official name is Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. This part is not a member of European Union and it is not developed as the south part. It used to be one country, but they separated in 1974.
